Pain is one of the leading presentations to healthcare with one in five South Africans suffering from chronic pain. It is also one of the leading causes of disability and sadly one of the most overlooked and poorly managed fields.
Dr Livie offers a comprehensive pain management approach to a wide variety of chronic pain conditions and aim to work collaboratively with specialists and typically work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of Physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychology. The mainstay of our approach is to offer Neuro rehabilitation for a wide range of complex pain conditions but we also strive to optimise patients pharmacologically and offer condition specific interventions to improve quality of life and functioning.
This pain management approach endeavours to put the focus on the individual and customizes each treatment plan based on individual and psychosocial need.

Multidisciplinary rehabilitation program: this allows access to services from all the necessary allied health professionals like Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Psychology/Counselling needed to treat the complexity of these pain conditions.
The program is conducted in a group format and runs over 4 sessions at 2 hours each.
